Angelina Boneva
Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works
Angelina Boneva is a long-time specialist in the field of European funds and development programs.
Since 2022, she has been the Acting Chief Director of the Directorate General "Strategic Planning and Programs for Regional Development" (DG SPPRR) at the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRRD). Later, she was appointed Deputy Minister in the Ministry.
Before that, she held the position of director of the "Project Information and Financing" department at the Fund of Funds.
She was involved in the team at the Ministry of Finance, which developed and negotiated with the European Commission the National Strategic Reference Framework 2007-2013, the basis for the first European funds in Bulgaria as a member of the EU. Subsequently, she participated in the preparation of the Partnership Agreement 2014-2020. She represented Bulgaria at the international peer review of the Innovation Strategy for Intelligent Specialization (ISIS) 2014-2020. She cooperated on innovation issues directly with the Joint Research Center (JRC) in Brussels.
She holds degrees in Philosophy, Political Science and Economics from Oxford and a joint MA in European Affairs from the Karl Franzens University in Graz, Eurac in Bolzano and the European Institute of Public Administration.
On June 14, 2023, she was appointed Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works for the second time.
